You’ll be part of a committed governance team supporting the business to manage its risks by advising colleagues in relation to contracts for the supply of services to our clients.
The role
Reporting to a solicitor within the team, but with hybrid working options, the role primarily involves reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and assisting with other governance-related queries raised by the business.
- Legal research
- Drafting Legal Documents
- Client (internal and external) Meetings and Communication
- Negotiating appointment contracts and supplier agreements
- Assisting other parts of the business on governance-related matters (e.g. Credit Control)
- Legal Advice and Guidance
- Taking responsibility for the delivery of some aspects of the team's target
What we are looking for
- A qualified solicitor with a range of experience from newly qualified (NQ) to post-qualification experience (2PQE)
- Some construction law experience is preferable but not essential
- Experience in reviewing commercial contracts and understanding the related law
- Keen to develop knowledge and understanding of commercial/construction law
- Efficient & organised
- A keen eye for detail and meticulous work ethic
- Ability to work autonomously and interact with local teams and remote offices
- Ability to interact with Directors across the firm and other senior staff
- Ability to interact and negotiate with clients
- Confident communicator, written and verbal
- Ability to work in a confidential and sensitive manner
- Ability to keep track/report on progress, keep data live and up to date
- Good IT skills, proficient in MS Outlook, Word & Excel
- Flexible and adaptive approach to task management
