About the role:

Forter is looking for a tech lead to join our Platform APIs team. In this role you are expected to lead the efforts to turn the APIs systems into a platform, enabling self-serve for other teams all while building mission-critical infrastructure that will accommodate Forter’s growth and future scale.

Every request and response Forter handles are processed by the APIs real time systems, therefore these systems must be highly available, compliant and secure. The team’s systems have to support Forter’s scale & growth, with focus on throughput & latency according to each product’s SLA.

You will be responsible for designing and building our next generation APIs real time ingestion systems and schema management solutions.

As tech lead for the team, you’ll be expected to push forward efforts and handle the friction that comes from working with multiple stakeholders and engineering teams. You’ll also focus on building long term technical vision for the systems, accommodating future products, changes and growth.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage the entire Software Development Life Cycle from planning and design to deployment and maintenance, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of solutions.
  • Hold yourself and others to a high standard, to ensure code quality, maintainability, and the reliability of Forter’s products.
  • Be a bar raiser for the team and surrounding teams. Someone that pushes us forward to constant improvement.
  • Provide platform services for other teams. We want them to move fast and be able to do so as autonomously as possible.
  • Mentor fellow engineers with focus on helping and growing senior talent.
  • Explore and make sure we followAPI management best practices, platform and tools.
  • Act with high agency, come with problems and solutions and help us make our day-to-day better and more efficient.

Who are you?

  • 8+ years of proven experience in designing and building large-scale production backend systems.
  • Great team player, able to influence without pulling rank and comfortable with cross-team collaboration.
  • Passionate about building highly available, scalable and secure systems with good engineering practices.
  • Experienced in a cloud environment.
  • Experienced with Docker or other container management platforms.
  • Bonus points for strong knowledge in the following areas: Node JS, K8S, Prometheus, API Management systems, reverse proxies, security.
