Animation Team Lead

As Animation Team Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the project manager (PM) in ensuring quality and meeting deadlines for your small team. You will collaborate on tracking your team's work, coach team members, and validate production results, while retaining part of the game's animation development under your responsibility (if applicable).

What you will do:

  • Create, prioritize, assign, and track daily tasks and work progress for your team according to deliverables
  • Act as the representative of your team
  • Organize and manage your team's meetings
  • Become familiar with the game's story, gameplay, and cinematics (game design documents) and master the technical and/or artistic constraints to guide and coach your team
  • Provide periodic progress reports to the PM and propose corrective measures when necessary to meet set objectives
  • Anticipate and address potential conflict situations and suggest solutions to the PM within the framework of problem solving
  • Serve as a technical and/or artistic mentor to your team members, if needed
  • Participate in performance reviews in collaboration with the PM
  • Coordinate bug fixes related to your team's work
  • Ensure the integration of new recruits into your team
  • Participate in recruiting to grow your team
  • Perform part of the animation

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in video game animation
  • Relevant experience in animation and team management
  • Strong understanding of animation principles, game engines, production pipelines and their constraints
  • Mastery of animation software (preferred: MotionBuilder)
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with motion capture workflows
  • Knowledge of game engines/tools and production pipelines
