Position Description: As an Animation Team Lead, you will support the Project Lead (PL) or Production Manager (PM) by ensuring quality and meeting deadlines for your small team. You will track your team’s deliverables, coach team members, validate production results, and still contribute to game development when needed.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create, prioritize, assign, and track daily tasks and progress based on deliverables
  • Act as your team’s representative
  • Organize and run team meetings
  • Learn the game’s story, gameplay, and cinematics (design documents) and master technical and/or artistic constraints to properly guide and coach your team
  • Provide regular progress reports to the PL/PM and recommend corrective actions to meet objectives
  • Anticipate and resolve potential conflicts within your team, proposing solutions to the PL/PM
  • Mentor team members on technical and/or artistic matters when needed
  • Participate in performance reviews with the PL/PM
  • Coordinate the resolution of bugs related to your team’s work
  • Ensure new recruits are properly integrated into your team
  • Take part in recruiting to grow your team
  • Produce some of the game’s animations

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of video game animation experience
  • Relevant experience in animation and team leadership
  • Strong understanding of animation principles, game engines, production pipelines, and their constraints
  • Proficiency in animation software (preferred: MotionBuilder)
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with motion capture workflows
  • Knowledge of game engine tools and production pipelines
