AI Animation Team Leader

As an AI Animation Team Leader, you will lead a small team responsible for delivering high-quality animations to support the creation of NPC systems for Far Cry. You will oversee the daily management of tasks, ensure animation quality, and contribute to the integration of animation into our production pipelines. Your role will also include supporting the Project Lead (PL), Production Managers (PM), and Animation Director, mentoring team members, preparing and following up on mocap shoots, as well as continuously improving animation quality and team efficiency.

What You Will Do:

  • In collaboration with the Project Lead and PMs, prioritize, assign, and monitor tasks to meet production deliverables and objectives.
  • Support the Animation Director by reviewing animations and ensuring consistency and alignment with the project vision.
  • Host team meetings as needed, communicate progress, and escalate risks or blockers to production leadership.
  • Organize recurring one-on-one meetings with employees for task follow-up and career development, as well as annual performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop NPC game features.
  • Mentor team members on artistic and technical aspects of animation and on AI workflows in the Snowdrop engine.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in video game animation.
  • Relevant experience in animation and team management.
  • Strong understanding of animation principles, game engines, production pipelines, and their constraints.
  • Proficiency in animation software (preferably MotionBuilder).
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with motion capture workflows.
  • Knowledge of game engines/tools and production pipelines.
