As AI Animation Team Lead, you will guide a small team responsible for delivering high-quality animations to support the creation of NPC systems for Far Cry. You will oversee the daily management of tasks, ensure animation quality, and contribute to the integration of animations into our production pipelines. Your role will also include providing support to the Project Lead (PL), Production Managers (PM), and Animation Director, mentoring team members, preparing and tracking mocap shoots, as well as continuous improvement of animation quality and team efficiency.

What You Will Do:

  • In collaboration with the PL and PMs, prioritize, assign, and track tasks to meet deliverables and production goals.
  • Support the Animation Director by reviewing animations and ensuring consistency and alignment with the project vision.
  • Conduct team meetings as needed, communicate progress, and escalate risks or blockers to production leads.
  • Organize recurring one-on-one meetings with employees for task follow-up and career development, as well as annual reviews.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop game NPC features.
  • Mentor team members on the artistic and technical aspects of animation as well as AI workflows in the Snowdrop engine.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in video game animation.
  • Relevant experience in animation and team management.
  • Strong understanding of animation principles, game engines, production pipelines, and their constraints.
  • Proficiency in animation software (preference: MotionBuilder).
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with motion capture workflows.
  • Knowledge of game engines/tools and production pipelines.
