Who are we looking for?

Join our team as an Accounting & Compliance Assistant in Manchester! We're seeking a talented individual to fill a permanent position and contribute to our company's payroll accounting and balance sheet reconciliation. If you're passionate about finance, regulations, and policy, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

About the role (External)

What does the average day look like?

The role of Accounting & Compliance Assistant is a multifaceted role in that you will undertake various duties including (but not limited to):

Assisting in periodic financial accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, cost account allocations, and intercompany transactions.

¡Collaborating with external stakeholders to ensure compliance with business processes and contractual terms.

¡Identifying and resolving business process defects, while working closely with stakeholders to improve performance metrics.

¡Contributing to the development and implementation of process, technology, and business change improvements.

¡Analysing and allocating costs to budget holders, providing necessary supporting data.

¡Conducting balance sheet reconciliations to uphold the company's financial integrity.


¡Proactively addressing queries and escalating issues when necessary.

What essential skills and experiences are required?

The successful candidate for this role will be required to be/have: -

1.Working towards or member of a relevant professional body, (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT)

2.Sufficient experience to fulfil the requirements of the role.

3.Advanced Excel skills and high-level numerical skills and ability to interpret data quickly.

4.Attention to detail.

5.Experience of working in a customer focused environment.

6.React swiftly to customer requests and ability to proactively resolve issues.

7.Knowledge of current accounting standards

**Band & Salary:**Band 5 – £26,000 - £28,000
