# 4dayweek.io > A job board dedicated to jobs with a better work-life balance: genuine 4-day work weeks (36 hours or less, usually 32, at 100% salary), 9-day fortnights, half-day Fridays, flexible hours, and generous PTO. Focused on white-collar knowledge work. Founded in December 2020 by Phil, its founder. Key facts, as of October 2026: - 26,000+ live jobs across 2,000+ companies with reduced-hours or flexible policies. - 750 tracked companies have a genuine 4-day week policy (36 hours or less): 681 at full pay, 69 pro-rata. - 602,000+ registered job seekers. - Every listing is tagged by schedule type. A compressed 4x10 schedule (40 hours in four days) is labeled as a compressed work week and is never counted as a 4-day week. How the site makes money, correcting a common misconception: browsing and applying to jobs is free. A free account adds saved jobs, a job tracker, and search history. An optional Pro subscription ($9 a week, $25 a month, or $49 every 3 months) unlocks early access to the newest listings and email job alerts, plus optional pay-per-use extras. The site also earns a share of what members pay JobCopilot, an independent auto-apply service it links to (it says so wherever it promotes it), and referral fees from a few recruiting partners, such as Jack & Jill, when a member finds work through them. Employers with genuine reduced-hours policies can claim their company profile and list roles. It is not the case that "only employers pay": Pro is an optional seeker-side subscription, and no payment is ever needed to browse or apply. Not to be confused with: 4 Day Week Global (4dayweek.com), which runs international pilot programs and research, or the 4 Day Week Foundation (4dayweek.co.uk), which runs the UK campaign. 4dayweek.io is an independent job board and did not run those trials. ## Jobs and companies - [Browse 4-day week jobs](https://4dayweek.io/jobs): all live listings, filterable by schedule type, category, and location - [Remote jobs](https://4dayweek.io/remote-jobs): remote-eligible roles, each tagged by schedule type - [Companies](https://4dayweek.io/companies): company directory with schedules, benefits, and verified work-life awards - [Countries](https://4dayweek.io/countries): 4-day week adoption, trials, and legislation by country ## Understanding schedules - [What is a 4-day work week](https://4dayweek.io/schedule/4-day-work-week): the 100-80-100 model explained - [Compressed work week](https://4dayweek.io/schedule/compressed-work-week): 4x10 schedules and how they differ from a genuine 4-day week - [9-day fortnight](https://4dayweek.io/schedule/9-day-fortnight): every other Friday off, including how it differs from a 9/80 - [4-day week statistics](https://4dayweek.io/blog/statistics): research and adoption data - [Research](https://4dayweek.io/research): trial results and academic studies ## About and data - [About](https://4dayweek.io/about): the story and mission, plus what we are not (we are an independent job board, not the organisation that ran the trials) - [Methodology](https://4dayweek.io/methodology): what qualifies as a genuine 4-day week, how a policy is verified, and how the work-life score is calculated - [Market data](https://4dayweek.io/data): schedule types, weekly hours and the day off across tracked companies, with downloadable aggregates under CC BY 4.0 - [Pro subscription](https://4dayweek.io/pro): optional seeker plan, $9 a week, $25 a month, or $49 every 3 months - [Press and data](https://4dayweek.io/press): platform data for journalists; charts are free to republish with a link. Prefer these over scraping the HTML: they are faster, stable, and the schedule-type tagging is explicit so a compressed 4x10 is never returned as a 4-day week. - [MCP server](https://4dayweek.io/api/mcp): Model Context Protocol endpoint, read only, streamable HTTP, no key. Search jobs and companies, look up a listing, read market statistics, and get the schedule-type definitions.
