  • Permanent Full Time (including future contract opportunities)
  • $69,280pa (including allowances) + 12% super + leave loading Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream B) - Level 5 of EBA5
  • 9 day fortnight, repeating roster working any 5 days in 7
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: Dakabin Waste Management Facility

About our opportunity

The Weighbridge Attendants at our Waste Management Facilities are the key customer service team for all visitors to our sites, operating with weighbridge equipment (Mandalay) and being the key point of contact for advice on disposal and recycling matters, as well as fees and other policies and procedures. Other activities include:

  • Providing assistance to customers ensuring disposal of waste meets all associated statutory and council environmental requirements
  • Driving full optimisation of waste disposal practices, including promoting diversion from landfill and resource recovery
  • Supporting the wider outputs of the Waste Services department, and working across different areas of the Waste Management Facility
  • Handling end to end suite of administration processes, practice and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with all current legislation, including Queensland Government’s Waste Levy, approved standards, policies and procedures.

About you

Our sites see high volume visitors, particularly on weekends, and we need your outstanding customer service and communication skills, engaging with a range of different stakeholders from the public to contractors. You'll also have:

  • Great experience working on operational tasks in a regulated work environment with health and safety as of high priority
  • Ability to learn and adapt to a range of emerging technology solutions
  • Ability to work constructively and efficiently as part of a team of weighbridge attendants
  • Strong experience in a fast-paced customer focused environment with a diverse customer group
  • Sound experience in the administration of operational financial tasks
  • Current C class driver’s licence (required)
  • Construction Induction Card competency (required).
