We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft.

This position is onsite in Fort Worth.

Simulation Software

Bring your experience & ideas to create Aircrew Flight Simulators developed for military and commercial simulation programs. While being an integral part of the Core Engineering organization, work closely with Integrated Product Teams (IPT), customers, and subcontractors. Hone your technical abilities throughout the full software lifecycle spectrum, while gaining experience in leadership and communication.

What you'll be doing as a Simulation Software Engineer

Take part in the organization, planning, development, and management of aircraft training environments to meet program and customer-defined requirements.Develop and integrate software and real-time math models to produce simulated avionics, physics-based aircraft models, communications, weapons, sensors, distributed simulation interactivity, etc.Create data interfaces for avionics, Ethernet, serial, and other protocols.Perform analysis of complex systems integration issues.Perform Configuration Management for developed software.Interface with pilots, customers, and subcontractors throughout product development and acceptance, including design & milestone presentations.Support the software development life cycle from requirements definition, coding, integration, deployment, and acceptance.

Qualifications

Skills You Bring To this Role

Minimum of 15 years of experience required developing training simulation environments.Proficiency with C/C , FORTRAN and Ada programming. Experience with scripting languages (e.g. cssh/tcsh, Perl, PHP, etc.)

  • Standard & Protocols UDP, TCP, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429

Proficiency with Linux/Unix (RHEL) development environment.Familiarity with software configuration management tools (Git preferred) and with CI/CD tools (GitLab-CI, Azure Dev Ops, etc.).Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills; build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers, and clearly brief leaders/customers with various levels of experience.Ability to obtain a secret clearanceAbility to travel

What you need to be successful

We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.Bachelor's degree with a Major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.Systems Engineering background is a bonus.
