Hours per week: 35 (typically Mon – Fri)

Salary Range: £52,191 - £67,081 (plus £3,344 Inner London Weighting, if applicable) per annum**

A day in the life of our Senior Technology Project Manager

The Senior Technology Project Manager role is crucial for improving the capability of delivering project and programmes in the Delivery Team of the Technology Department.

Expertise in project delivery is key. You’ll be responsible (and accountable) for overseeing, planning, executing, and completing various concurrent projects within the Technology Portfolio Delivery Plan. Your goal will be to meet all project objectives within scope, time, quality, and cost.

You’ll confidently engage with stakeholders along the project journey. You’ll manage expectations at each stage of the process of analysis and delivery. Overcoming resistance when you meet it, you’ll ensure stakeholders are proactively managed and engaged with. This will enable the successful delivery of project outputs. You’ll role model the spirit of collaboration and build constructive, aligned and mutually beneficial relationships.

Part of the role is to coach and mentor Project Managers or Specialists within the Delivery Team. You’ll regularly engage with team members to discuss ideas and keep them informed of organisational plans and developments. You’ll ensure all team members appreciate their responsibilities and objectives. You’ll ensure they have the skills and knowledge they need to meet their objectives and arrange training / up-skilling as needed.

You’ll be instrumental in managing organisational change and transformation. You’ll drive efficiencies and provide analysis of the impact of proposed business changes. You’ll ensure training needs, and a communication plan are incorporated into projects.

This role might be for you if…

  • Qualifications: Current project management certification (Agile, Prince2, APMG, PMP or equivalent).
  • You have significant and up-to-date technical knowledge and skills in project and programme management techniques, processes, and controls.
  • You can work with both agile and traditional project management principles and practices. You can adopt them together to fit a project and business environment.
  • You thrive when managing fast-paced, dynamic and/or ambiguous projects, programmes or portfolios, often with competing priorities, multiple interdependencies and stakeholders.
  • You have experience of business change management and delivering positive change through critical thinking and problem solving, including user communications.
  • You have line management experience supporting small teams.
  • You have experience of producing detailed project documents including project plans, schedules, end of project and lessons learnt documents.
