Senior People Manager

Naked Wines

We are open to different forms of flexible working e.g. 4x10hr days, 4x8hr days @ 80% salary etc.

Only considering candidates eligible to work in Norwich or London, UK ⚠️

At Naked Wines, we don’t just back winemakers - we back people. Our Angels (customers) trust us to connect them to incredible Winemakers, and our people trust us to create a place where they can do their best work. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Senior People Manager to join our small but mighty People team and help us take our people strategy to the next level. You’ll be the kind of person who can mix deep HR know-how with commercial awareness, building processes that support growth without crushing the entrepreneurial spark that makes Naked, well… Naked.

This is a hands-on, senior role where you’ll be both a trusted advisor and a builder of pragmatic solutions. If you thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment where you can make a real difference every day, then pull up a chair (and maybe a glass of wine).

What you’ll be doing

  • Partner with leaders across the business to shape and deliver our people strategy.
  • Provide expert advice on HR matters - from employee relations to organisational design.
  • Build and evolve HR processes that are simple, human, and help people thrive.
  • Support and coach managers on all aspects of people leadership.
  • Oversee compliance with UK employment law while keeping things practical, not bureaucratic.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding/offboarding for our UK-based roles, streamlining tools and processes to make hiring and training seamless.
  • Keep our HR systems, employee data, and reporting accurate, insightful and compliant.
  • Support the smooth running of our perks and benefits offerings, and compliance training.
  • Support team projects in engagement, L&D, compliance, and talent management.
  • Play a key role in embedding our values into everything we do.
  • Be the calm, trusted voice when complex or sensitive people issues arise.

You are who we are looking for, if…

  • You’ve got significant senior HR experience (ideally in fast-moving, growth businesses).
  • You’re fully up to speed on UK employment law and know how to apply it with pragmatism.
  • You’ve worked both strategically and operationally in people roles - and enjoy switching between the two.
  • You’re fluent in English, with a sharp pen and confident voice.
  • You’re excited by the messy, creative, entrepreneurial side of a business in scale-up mode.
  • You’re commercial at heart and you see HR as a driver of business success, not red tape.
  • You know your way around HR tools and systems.
  • Bonus points if you’ve thrived in an unstructured environment where you had to build from scratch.

You will thrive here, if…

  • You believe in people, not processes.
  • You can hold your own with senior leaders - but you’re just as happy rolling up your sleeves.
  • You’re adaptable, resilient, and not fazed by ambiguity.
  • You’ve got a coaching style, not a policing one.
  • You’re curious, open-minded, and always looking for better ways of doing things.
