About the role

We have a brand-new opportunity for a Senior BIM Technician to join our team based in our Glasgow or Edinburgh offices.

It's an exciting time to join our BIM team in Scotland. Our Glasgow office was established in 2016 to provide a local presence on our projects. Now, it houses an abundance of key sector expertise and knowledge that supports projects across the UK. The recent opening of our Edinburgh office represents our desire to forge even stronger relationships with our clients in Scotland, by providing a local presence for our East Coast-based projects.

You will be working closely with Hoare Lea Engineers to deliver projects to our Clients. Responsible for the BIM/Revit processes on projects from scheme design through to tender, you will be comfortable managing and prioritising your own workload to ensure deadlines are met. You will be part of a team and expected to encourage and train Revit technicians.

In this key and varied role, you can expect to:

  • Support the BIM Manager, Model Manager and Project lead in the modelling of Mechanical, Electrical & Public health services within a Revit environment.
  • Assist the engineers with the coordination of MEP elements and aid the production of 2D project deliverables within Revit right through from Preliminary stage to Contract Issue.
  • Manage & prioritise your own workload.
  • Use your practical working experience as a Revit Technician/Coordinator in a Building Services environment and be fully immersed in the world of BIM.

You will preferably have experience scheduling from Revit as well as inputting design data into Revit and a strong knowledge of BIM protocols and BEPs would also be a plus.

About you

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • Candidate must be able to produce clear, complete & consistent drawings from Revit.
  • Be able to model and coordinate MEP services within Revit.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the BIM processes and procedures.
  • Minor Family modification.
  • Hold model reviews.

Desired Software proficiencies: Revit (Required), BIM 360 (Desirable), AutoCAD (Desirable), Navisworks Manage (Desirable), Solibri (Desirable), Dynamo (Desirable) and RF Tools (Desirable).
