Job Introduction
BBC Audio is looking for a dynamic and engaged PMA to support the Production Management Community - covering a variety of tasks: including responsibility for the smooth running of production offices and being a key point of contact for the Head of Audio North, Production Managers and support to the Production Coordinators.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Audio North Production Managers and Unit Manager, the Production Management Assistant will assist the team in BBC Audio North. Day to day tasks would include studio & workshop and meeting room bookings, managing IT and phone assets, laptop allocation, locker allocation, car parking allocation, as well as helping with staff rotas and annual leave requests, databases and IT requests and logging sickness absence. The PMA organises id passes and meets and greets visitors to the department and books hospitality for large working meetings and events.
You’ll also assist the production coordinators with travel and accommodation bookings, events accreditation and visa requests for production teams as well as production paperwork and music reporting in Proteus (this is a Radio specific system which is used for all aspects of programme paperwork), liaising with Facilities Management, ordering office supplies, allocating production equipment and being the first port of call for any questions the team members may have. You’ll also be contributing to, and helping to implement, practical actions to reduce environmental impact throughout production.
Are you the right candidate?
Our ideal candidate would be enthusiastic about radio and podcasts, be pro-active and have good organisational skills - the ability to multi-task and prioritise, and work independently, as well as being a good team player. You will have some experience of providing administrative support, demonstrable experience of working collaboratively and supporting a team / working with other people with well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
You will ideally also have experience of using BBC systems and MS Office 365 or the ability to adapt to new technologies and a willingness to learn new skills. Your Excel skills will be assessed as part of the interview process.
