Marketing and Communications Assistant

Salary: This is a full time role with a full-time equivalent salary of up to £22,166 per annum.
Working Hours: 33 hours per week over 4 days, working one in four Fridays, 52 weeks per year.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing and Communications Assistant to join our Marketing department.
The purpose of the role is to provide web editing, maintenance, and wider digital content development support to a number of areas, including balancing your time between working on proactive web projects, responding to requests for website updates and general communications activities. It will also provide communications support, working with a range of staff to identify and draft news stories, and using communications channels, digital and social media for promotion.
The successful applicant must have:
- Experience working on integrated digital campaigns across a variety of channels, and using marketing platforms to build and deliver email campaigns
- Experience delivering marketing and communication projects and creating and designing materials for business purposes
- Knowledge of Using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and the use of social media to promote college courses and events
- The ability to be able to work under pressure and deliver content to deadlines in a Forward thinking and innovative way
The roles main duties include:
- Updating, maintaining and promoting the college website, social media and other media outlets ensuring all information and content is relevant, up-to-date and engaging.
- Keeping up to date the College’s website and Social Media Channels and the production of publicity materials.
- Attending marketing events out in the community and at local schools in the area.
- Creatively find ways to celebrate the success of students and staff and promote these using digital methods.
- Designing promotional materials aimed at a range of age groups.
- Planning, designing and distributing high quality marketing materials.
- Ensuring the College has a strong Social Media presence, managing press releases as needed.
- Supporting marketing events such as planned open days, freshers fair and award ceremonies.
- Using existing design for all campaigns including content creation, promoting the College’s profile and community engagement.
- Supporting the delivery of targeted marketing campaigns to budget.
- Being proactive in reaching out to new potential students as part of conversion campaigns to convert applications to enrolment.
This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity in the FE sector. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Regulated activity includes teaching, instructing, caring for or supervising children if the person is unsupervised.

Grantham College operate a 4-day working week. Staff benefit from a reduction in working hours with full pay. You will work core hours (based on a full-time equivalent contract) of Monday to Thursday, working a Friday morning once a month.
