Avionics & Electrical

Develop electronic solutions for problems in flight control, avionics, system integration, and fleet support. Design and qualify flight-ready printed circuit boards, modules, and rack-mounted assemblies. Provide technical guidance and oversight for team members gaining experience in electronic design. Tasks include circuit design, PC board layout, software design, verification and integration on Bell Helicopter products.

What you’ll be doing as a Avionics and Electrical Engineer

  • Lead the development, design, testing and certification documentation for new or modified printed circuit board modules for aircraft
  • Provide aircraft and factory diagnostics for fleet and production support
  • Apply electrical engineering theory and the operation of electronic test equipment to test and troubleshoot avionics / electrical modules or systems
  • Model and simulate electronic circuits using SPICE software
  • Design printed circuit board layouts using Altium design software
  • Modify and maintain programmable logic designs in FPGAs and CPLDs
  • Prepare engineering certification reports to document system designs that meet the requirements of certification authorities
  • Prepare functional test documents to verify proper operation of electronic assemblies

Qualifications

Skills you bring to this Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Related technical degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Electronics Engineering or related field
  • Experience in analog and digital circuit design
  • Experience in control systems analysis and embedded processor design
  • Familiarity with the application of aerospace standards (such as DO-254, DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461) or similar industry standards, preferred
  • Software programing experience with C, Jana, and/or Python, preferred
  • Design experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and Verilog or Hardware Description Language (VHDL), preferred
