Health and Social Care Lecturer

Salary: This is a full time role with a full-time equivalent salary of up to £33,642 per annum.

Working Hours: 33 hours per week over 4 days, working one in four Fridays, 52 weeks per year.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health and Social Care Lecturer  to join our Health and Social care department.

The purpose of the role is to plan and deliver on our new T-Level provision, in Supporting Healthcare-Supporting the Adult Nursing Team, as we expand our T level portfolio of courses within the department. With a previous career as an RGN you will  plan, deliver and demonstrate a high-quality professional practice and provide quality teaching, learning and assessment of a variety of levels and courses. Devise action plans and maintain appropriate records.

The successful applicant must have:

  • Professional qualification in Nursing with registered status
  • Evidence of recent clinical practice.
  • Administration skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to motivate students

The roles main duties include:

  1. Planning and delivering the Health T Level, Supporting Healthcare – Supporting the Adult Nursing Team
  2. Planning, teaching, delivering, and assessing, Health and Social Care courses, including level 1 to level 3 to support progression.
  3. Planning and delivering subjects linked to Health and Social Care including Anatomy and Physiology, Public Health, Infection control and academic research.
  4. Taking responsibility for specific areas of work within the curriculum area.
  5. Providing tutorial support and guidance to students both in the college and while they are in the workplace or on industry placement.
  6. Providing guidance to students including tutorial work, transition, and progression planning.
  7.  Liaising with external bodies, partner agencies and employers to support the development of the curriculum.
  8. Being an effective member of relevant course teams and to work closely with other teams within the curriculum areas.
  9. Carrying out administrative duties associated with teaching, learning and assessment including maintenance of registers, schemes of work, assessments, reports, course records within established deadlines.
  10. Ensuring safe working practices are observed by yourself and others including students for whom you are responsible.
  11. Providing timely returns or reports as requested by the Head of Curriculum.
  12. Assisting in the recruitment of students, including interviewing and enrolments.
  13. Assisting in the marketing of the College provision through attendance at Careers Conventions, Open Days, and other promotional events.
  14. Assisting in the development of curriculum support materials.
  15. Assisting with activities related to the programmes of study (e.g. residential, work experience / placements and cross-college work) as required.

This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity in the FE sector. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Regulated activity includes teaching, instructing, caring for or supervising children if the person is unsupervised.

Grantham College operate a 4-day working week. Staff benefit from working a full-time contract over four days. You will work core hours of Monday to Thursday, working a Friday morning once a month
