Salary: This is a full time role with a full-time equivalent salary of up to £31,407 per annum.
Working Hours: 33 hours per week over 4 days, working one in four Fridays, 52 weeks per year.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graphic Design Lecturer to join our Art and Design department.
The purpose of the role is to demonstrate a high quality professional practice and provide quality teaching and learning at a variety of levels. To devise action plans and maintain appropriate records.
The successful applicant must have:
- Degree or HND in related subject area
- Teaching qualification or willing to work towards
- Comprehensive knowledge in Adobe Indesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
- Experience of and skills in: writing assignment briefs, writing lesson plans and schemes of work and assessing work
- Knowledge and understanding of the health and safety issues concerning this type of work
- Skills and abilities in: communicating effectively with others and working effectively in a team and under own direction, working effectively with young people and adults, being organised, efficient and flexible, good time management and experience meeting deadlines
The roles main duties include:
- Teaching, using an appropriate mix of traditional, e-learning and blended learning approaches, on a range of courses involving Graphic Design and on programmes organised by other sections of the college.
- Taking responsibility for specific areas of work within the curriculum area.
- Providing support and guidance to students
- Operating as an effective member of relevant course teams and to work closely with other areas.
- Carrying out administrative duties associated with teaching, including maintenance of registers, schemes of work, assessments, reports, course records and course evaluations to a satisfactory standard and within established deadlines.
- Ensuring safe working practices are observed by yourself and others (including students) for whom you are responsible.
- Providing such returns or reports as may from time to time be required by the Head of Curriculum or College.
- Assisting in the recruitment of students including interviewing and enrolments
- Assisting in the marketing of the College provision though attendance at Careers Conventions, Open Days and other promotional events.
- Assisting in the development of curriculum support materials.
- Assisting with programmes of work experience and/or industrial and commercial liaison, including the organisation and monitoring of work experience placements.
This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity in the FE sector. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Regulated activity includes teaching, instructing, caring for or supervising children if the person is unsupervised.

Grantham College operate a 4-day working week. Staff benefit from a reduction in working hours with full pay. You will work core hours (based on a full-time equivalent contract) of Monday to Thursday, working a Friday morning once a month.
