The Role:

Digible, Inc. is looking for a Controller to join our team!

Our finance team is a collaborative team of people that take care of the day to day operations such as invoicing, collections and vendor payment and management.  We are in search of a leader to supervise the activities, improve processes and drive efficiencies across the company. You will love working with our team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversees and coordinates all operational accounting functions including A/R, A/P, invoicing, collections, journal entries, maintaining the chart of accounts and accurate expense mapping.
  • Directs, coaches and manages internal accounting resources and external/outsourced support for accounting and finance functions such as A/R, bookkeeping, taxes and payables.
  • Owns P&L and Balance Sheet cleanliness including department expense mapping, expense accrual entries, revenue recognition, prepaid expenses, tax estimates and bonus program accruals.
  • Coordinates month-end close process. Prepares and presents monthly financial reporting for key stakeholders.
  • Establishes critical financial metrics and KPIs to indicate financial risks or opportunities.
  • Has a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Willingness to reset on processes as needed to conform to GAAP standards.
  • Acts as accounting system administrator. Evaluate current accounting software and offer recommendations for improvements. Implement new processes or systems when needed.
  • Understands cash flow management, reporting and forecasting.
  • Manages and refines company expense policies identifying ways to manage and track company costs effectively.
  • Owns contract management and vendor negotiations.
  • Manages banking transactions (deposits/ACH transfers/refunds/autopay/wires)
  • Coordinates all outsourced tax support and ensures tax compliance.
  • Provides reporting to outside agencies as necessary for corporate loans, leases, SBA and any other compliance reporting.
  • Understands payroll management, planning and reporting. Acts as primary backup for payroll processing and troubleshooting.
  • Assists with building and tracking annual company budgets and forecasts.
  • Assists with Stock Compensation and Cap Table management.
  • Assists with building out Digible’s Finance and Accounting department over the next 1 to 3 years with the right people in the right seats needed to support the business. Can think both short-term and long-term with regards to outsourcing vs staffing.

How Success Will Be Measured:

  • Creates and maintains a highly efficient accounting team.
  • Drives decisions to enhance cash management through timely billing and collections and the use of credit cards to manage payables.
  • Becomes a trusted advisor to the Digible leadership team.

What You Should Have:

  • 7+ years experience in accounting/finance.
  • 3+ years of supervisory/management experience.
  • CPA preferred (not required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required)
  • Digital media or media agency experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, or other Financial ERP systems (SAP, Sage Intacct, NetSuite)
  • A critical thinker with attention to detail.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical mindset.
  • Proven financial analysis skills.
  • Experience reporting to executive leadership and presenting analysis of monthly financials.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior executives and leaders across the organization.
  • Ability to align with executives on key strategies and support these initiatives through cost analysis, risk analysis, ROI analysis and financing.
  • Must be comfortable working in a small, start-up environment with ability to juggle multiple projects, requests, and priorities at the same time.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
