Computing Lecturer

Salary: This is a full time role with a salary of up to £34,325 per annum.
Working Hours: 33 hours per week over 4 days, working one in four Fridays, 52 weeks per year.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Computing Lecturer to join our Computing department.
It is a particularly exciting time to join Grantham College’s Computing team with new state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Higher-level computing is at the centre of our new £2.6m Institute of Technology (IoT): a prestigious and high-quality centre delivering higher level technical education in digital and engineering, with a clear route to high-skilled employment. There are also opportunities for the successful candidate to lead on IoT-linked short courses, and digital bootcamps. We have expanded our digital portfolio to include T-Level digital production, HTQ computing, systems development, digital technologies, and cloud computing.
The purpose of the role is to demonstrate a high quality professional practice and provide quality teaching, assessing and learning at a variety of levels with a focus on online level 2 computing qualifications, T Level Digital Production Design and Development, HTQ Level 4 and HTQ Level 5 Computing. Devise teaching plans and maintain appropriate records.

The successful applicant must have:
- Experience of teaching computing on FE vocational, BTEC Diplomas and digital T Levels
- Good first degree/ HND in a relevant field, such as Computing or Computer Science
- Teaching qualification or working towards
- Knowledge of programming language, including Object Orientated and event Driven which must include Python; relational databases (e.g Microsoft Access, MySQL, SQLite) and SQL;
- Knowledge of Full stack web development including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP or Python and MySQL
- Experience writing lesson plans, schemes of work and assessing work.
This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity in the FE sector. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Regulated activity includes teaching, instructing, caring for or supervising children if the person is unsupervised.

Grantham College operate a 4-day working week. Staff benefit from a reduction in working hours with full pay. You will work core hours (based on a full-time equivalent contract) of Monday to Thursday, working a Friday morning once a month.
