Business Administration Apprentice – MIS Support (Fixed Term until August 2026)

Salary: This is a full time role with a full-time equivalent salary of up to £10,982.40 per annum
Working Hours: 33 hours per week over 4 days, working one in four Fridays, 52 weeks per year.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Administration Apprentice to join our MIS department.
The purpose of the role is to provide an effective administrative support service to the MIS team.
The successful applicant must have:
- GCSE Mathematics and English at level C/ 4
- IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/Teams)
- The ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines under pressure and to work on own initiative and prioritise workload
- Methodical and organised approach to work with the ability to follow instructions and meet agreed timescales.
- Good communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously with good organisational skills and able to work without supervision
- Willingness to learn
- The ability to maintain confidentiality
The roles main duties include:
- Providing a comprehensive administration support service for the team to support them to effectively carry out their duties, meet deadlines and comply with college policy and procedures.
- Supporting the wider team with duties as and when required, for example general administration, collating and/or gathering data and college events.
- Participating in classes, apprenticeship reviews and any workshops to gain knowledge, skills and behaviours, as part of the apprenticeship.
- Completing assignments, assessments, Off the Job Training Log and End Point Assessment timely.
- Carrying out all duties professionally with the highest level of confidentiality.
- Supporting across the department as needed including timetabling, enrolment, exams and reports.
- Supporting with the invigilation of exams as required.
This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity in the FE sector. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Regulated activity includes teaching, instructing, caring for or supervising children if the person is unsupervised.

Grantham College operate a 4-day working week. Staff benefit from a reduction in working hours with full pay. You will work core hours (based on a full-time equivalent contract) of Monday to Thursday, working a Friday morning once a month.
