Greenpeace Canada
Independent global environmental organization focused on exposing global environmental problems and developing solutions.
Who we are
Greenpeace Canada is a branch of the global organization Greenpeace, which is dedicated to using peaceful, creative confrontation to expose environmental problems and advocate for solutions.
Founded in 1971, Greenpeace has become the world’s most visible environmental organization, with offices in more than 55 countries. Our mission is to ensure the earth's ability to nurture life in all its diversity by protecting biodiversity, preventing pollution, and promoting peace.
What we do
We work on various environmental issues, including climate change, deforestation, ocean conservation, and sustainable agriculture. Our campaigns are designed to create significant and lasting change through direct action, lobbying, and research. We prioritize projects to protect biodiversity, end pollution, and promote non-violence and disarmament. Our efforts have led to significant victories, such as protecting the Great Bear Rainforest and canceling the Energy East tar sands pipeline.
